Inclusive Education

From L-R: Neil A. Balbuena, Dalisay M. Dumalag, RN, MAN, Ph. D., Sir Ariel
Last February 18, 2017, a "Seminar on PWD and their Rights" was conducted at Negros Oriental State University College of  Nursing AVR (Audio Visual Room). The guest speaker was Felix Dela Pena Mosqueda III, who promotes inclusive education. I was invited to be an inspirational speaker to the medical students of NORSU.

Promoting awareness of the rights of PWD was the objective of the seminar. Sharing my success stories to the Nursing students inspired them a lot. Medical students have different orientation when it comes to attending their patients. Patients are being classified and separated according to their illness. That is why it is difficult for them to understand the concept of inclusion. After my talk, they finally embraced the significance of inclusion and how PWD's must be treated.

It was an overwhelming feeling to be an instrument to enlighten and inspired the minds of the people. It is also a great challenge for me to do more and shout to the world that we (PWD's) are also part of the society. It's not enough to accept us but also accommodate us.

  1. brian e. basteda. The ability of a person is not the hendrance
to reach his/her goal .But to treat them equally with full support and highly motivated. As the disability of a person is more than his/her ability. This shows that our self-esteem and interest not be departed by others. For we are one to mingle them as they are not in discouragement and experience peer pressure.

  2. For me,inclusive education is about the acceptance and right accommodation of all individual in our society specially PWD.A person with disability must be treated in the way that they must feel they are ALSO part of the environment. They must not feel that they are isolated.
Just think about it,A normal person faces struggles in life not permanently may be in terms only of financial or a family problem. But PWD woke up everyday facing the permanent hardship they have they are test physically and even emotionally. They are struggling inside and out.As I STARTED COMPARE MY SELF TO THEM.One thing comes out into my mind that we are nothing compared to them. Our circumstances IS ONLY 25 Percent.they are the not liabilities but the true assets of this world. There heart and mind are strengthen from time to time.
So I STAND THAT INCLUSIVE EDUCATION MUST BE IMPLEMENTED,This the way to stop the discrimination and to start to appreciate the beauty they have. There must be no more barriers between a normal and special beings. They have the right to embrace the beauty of this world with HOPE and JOY.

  4. We cannot deny the fact that most PWDs are being neglected and discriminated.PWds must be accepted and included on our normal environment. They may not look or act like us instead we make them feel that they belong with us and they are accepted on our environment. With this simple things it will helps them to boost their confidence and go out on its shell to explore. I am favor of promoting the Inclusive Education because this will give a big help to our fellow PWDs to mold their minds on how to be productive and the most important is how to be confidently socialize with other individuals.

  5. As for my opinion, I can say that we can rarely meet people nowadays who cares about the sake of others especially those who have disabilities. The conductor should have considered your situation and accomodated you. The passenger who were sitting on the PWD's reserved seats should have offered you the seat that was really meant for people who have disabilities. The management should have taken seriously the law that the government had implemented. They should have trained their employees the correct approach in this kind of situation. And for the other people who did not care about the said situation, I pray to God that you will all open your hearts to learn to care and love to people who were born with disabilities and would kindly offer the seat that are really meant for them.As for my opinion, I can say that we can rarely meet people nowadays who cares about the sake of others especially those who have disabilities. People with disabilities have a right to have an inclusive and quality of education. Because inclusive eduction is about the acceptance of each individual in our society.Though we cant deny that some people ignored them or laughed them without knowing that thier dissabilities is not a hendrance but it is thier power to achieved their goals in life. We should not let them feel that they are not belong in our society. They should be given an opportunities and accomodition so that they will may recognize in our society.

  7. God has a plan and a purpose,a value to every life no matter what and who we are. So,let us not discriminate those PWD's around us because they are part of our diversity. We all know that their lives is not easy but they are able to thrive and live normally despite of the challenges that they encounter everyday. Then, why not make them as an inspiration?Instead of degrading them.Because most PWD's especially you Sir Neil are very talented and intelligent that even us who are physically complete have failed. So,let us love, care, respect and accept them because they have the right to enjoy the beauty in this world. Therefore I strongly stand that the INCLUSIVE EDUCATION must be implemented.

For me, each of us are gifted from God. As what I've see most PWD are talented and intillegent. In this situation we cannot deny some person ignored PWD. But God find ways to share your experience to inspired people. Disabilities is not a hendrance to fullfill our ambition. This will serve us inspiration to our daily lives and always bare a kind heart, respect PWD around us.

Congratulation sir,Your the best inspiration to the people and also to me.Your the best example of being PWDs.
For my opinion,Its not good to underestimate people with disability because they are also part of the society. In addition,PWDs are must be treated equally. So with or without disability there must no barriers between them.

Inclusive education is a good idea for PWD's so that they can also feel that they are treated the same as how teachers treat the normal students. But for their part it is also hard to cope with the normal students. Like for example they are being bullied in class,it is important that there is a decent guidance for them so that bullying can be minimized. It is also good for their part because they can feel the same environment as the other students and they can also play and communicate with their classmates. In order for inclusive education to succeed is to avoid discrimination and being too to the persons that have disabilities.

  13. Everyone of us has the right to grow, learn, develop and to be treated well. Everyone is valued equally and deserves the same opportunities and experiences. PWDs must treated normally and respect them. We should welcome them as part of our society. I agree that inclusive education must be implement. Because its about building friendship, membership and having opportunities just like everyone else.

We are all entitled to be educated. A disability is not a hindrance to pursue the dreams of an individual. It does not mean that you are disable you cannot do the things you want. We are all created equal by GOD. Maybe someone is given a disability as a challenge. People with disability makes us inspire especially when they become successful in their own life. It is a matter of motivating ones self to achieve his/her goals in life.

  18. We are all entitled to be educated. Being a PWD (Person with Disability) is not a hindrance to achieve someones goal. It is just a matter of motivating oneself on how he/she achieve the goal in his/her life. Pwd's are part of our society, we should not exclude them in social activities and other events. They could be an asset on our society because most of them are gifted.

Inclusive education is very much important as it bring about confidence between person with and without disabilities. In that person with or without disabilities will be much pleased to study and play together. None will get hurt. Therefore every single authority will get much admiration for sure.
